PARISH COUNCIL NEWS.
The Parish Council meet on the 2nd Tuesday of each month in the ClayTAWC Centre.All meetings start at 7 p.m. and the public are very welcome to attend.There is a regular agenda item of 10 minutes duration when members of the public may speak and raise their particular concerns.
Notes from the Parish Council Meeting held on the 9th February.
PC Humphries reported that there had been 9 reported crimes in January of which 4 had been detected.Roadside speed checks have been continued and a joint agency speed awareness day will be held later in February.The new Police Community Support Officer will be starting work in February.
The Council received a presentation on the proposed 2nd phase of the Hendra Heights development which was attended by a large number of the residents from Parc An Bre Drive.The presenting architect outlined the proposals which are considerably different from the existing planning approval and would mean a development of 27 houses on the site subject to planning permission. Residents present expressed their views which the architect noted and there will be a further opportunity to make comment if a new planning application is submitted.
A parishioner at the meeting reported that recently 3 articulated lorries had somehow found their way into Dunstan Close and had caused disruption and damage to a lawn when attempting to turn around. The Council will be writing to both Imerys and Goonvean regarding this and also will continue to lobby Cornwall Council to provide more effective signage.
After considering the proposed contract with BT Payphones regarding the adoption by the Council of the red telephone box in Trerice the Council has decided that the possible effect of some of the clauses in the contract plus the future maintenance costs makes the adoption an unviable proposition.
The Council received a financial report for the period 1/4-31/12/09 setting out a comparison of payments and receipts with the approved budget together with a forecast of balances in hand at 31st March 2010.
The Council has written to Cornwall Council Highways listing the damage to local roads as a result of the snow and ice, and requesting that more grit boxes are provided. Cornwall Council has stated that all the pot holes etc will be repaired and that its policy with regard to grit boxes will be reviewed.
