Press release for St Dennis Parish Council meeting July 2008

PARISH COUNCIL NEWS.

The Parish Council meet on the 2nd Tuesday of each month in the ClayTAWC Centre.All meetings start at 7 p.m. and the public are very welcome to attend.There is a regular agenda item of 10 minutes duration when members of the public may speak and raise their particular concerns.

Notes from the Parish Council meeting held on the 8th July.

  1. The vacant position on the Parish Council has been filled by co-option and Mr Norman Crews was elected.

  2. The Parish Council’s response to the ‘Incinerator’ planning application has been sent to the County Council and Restormel Borough Council. The Parish Council is objecting to the application and has also written to the Secretary of State calling for a public inquiry into the application.

  3. The Council has received a complaint about excessive speeding in Trelavour Road and will be asking the Police to initiate speed checks in the area.

  4. The new disabled access to the Cemetery is completed and is situated off the footpath that runs parallel to the Cemetery wall.

  5. The Council has obtained funding of £7,880 and will be ordering a new roundabout for the Play Area to replace the one that was removed for safety reasons some time ago.

  6. Further projects planned for later this year are the purchase of new tennis posts and nets and the renewal of the shed roof in the Playing Field.

  7. Following the unfortunate dissolution of Newmoor Rovers Football Club the Council will be considering how the football pitch and possibly the changing rooms could be utilised for other purposes.

  8. Council approved a grant of £100 to the St Denys Beaders Group.
