PARISH COUNCIL NEWS.

The Parish Council meet on the 2nd Tuesday of each month in the ClayTAWC Centre.All meetings start at 7 p.m. and the public are very welcome to attend.There is a regular agenda item of 10 minutes duration when members of the public may speak and raise their particular concerns.

Notes from the Parish Council meeting held on the 10th June.

  1. PCSO Fisher reported that there had been reported crimes in May and also that PC Dingle had been transferred to a new position in Fowey.The vacant post in St Dennis had been advertised but a replacement had not yet been found.

  2. The Parish Council will be issuing a statement reporting its view on the SITA planning application for an incinerator and will be making a formal response to Restormel Borough Council and County Council objecting to the application.

  3. The work to provide a disabled access to the Cemetery is almost completed and access for the disabled will be from the footpath which runs parallel to the Cemetery wall.

  4. The Parish Council will be seeking a meeting with the contractor responsible for the maintenance of the Cemetery as it is dissatisfied with standard of work particularly in the Garden of Rest.

  5. A bid for funding has been made to provide a new roundabout and safety surfacing in the Playing Field Play Area.If the bid is successful it is hoped that the roundabout could be installed by the late summer.

  6. The Parish Council has a vacancy on the Council due to the resignation of Shaun Hugh and a notice advertising the vacancy will be placed on the notice board in late June.

  7. The Council approved grants to the St Dennis Carnival Committee (£250) to assist in financing the Carnival costs and to St Dennis Bands (£500) towards the costs of Band Room improvements.
