  1. The Police reported that there had been 7 reported crimes in February of which 4 had been detected.

  2. The Council received a presentation from officers of Cornwall County Council on the County Council’s bid to be the unitary authority for Cornwall. The County officers outlined the County’s proposals for 16 area networks based on the existing electoral boundaries which would bring together the various stakeholders e.g. police, health services, voluntary sector etc and provide support for local councillors. There would be administrative offices supporting each area and one-stop shops established within the areas.Opportunities would exist for Parish Councils to take on additional powers. The County proposal was claimed to provide substantial long term cost savings compared to the current two tiered system and although there would be additional transitional costs in the first year these would be recovered by savings in annual running costs within 2 to 3 years.
